Product Love; Spiezia
Spiezia (pronounced Spee-ett-zee-ah) is my latest 100 % organic, 100 % natural beauty product obsession. They have an incredible company policy and vision, which is as true to their word as companies come, this is just what we need in this day and age. A completely enviromentally aware product that does everything the right way. All products are 100 % organic, natural and handmade, the way all beauty products should be made! It is so nice to know that what you are applying to your skin is completely chemical free, has no harsh ingredients and contains only the purest of what nature has to offer.
read their company policy on ethics, ingredients etc here
I was fortunate enough to get to try out their Facial starter pack, which contains a facial cleanser, rose and chamomile gentle face scrub, floral skin toner, rose and vanilla face oil and a nourishing moisturiser.
The facial cleanser smells of beeswax and is excellent at removing all traces of makeup, I loved using this to remove my mascara and eyeshadow as it is gentle to use around the eye area but is highly effective. You simply massage it onto your face and then wipe off with a face cloth or you can use the floral toner.
The Rose and Chamomile Gentle Face Scrub, wow where do I start with this one. It is my absolute favourite! It smells so yummy and is a wonderful gentle scrub as it uses actual pieces of Chamomile stamen to exfoliate your skin. My skin felt so soft and smooth afterwards and it had a lovely glow afterwards rather than the usual red one comes to expect after using a scrub.
The Floral skin Toner has a delicate lavender scent to it and is one of the best toners I have ever used as it wasn't harsh at all but kept the oily parts of my combination skin at bay. When applied it had a soothing effect on my skin.
The Rose and Vanilla Face Oil has the most divine perfumey fragrance, I literally could not stop sniffing it! I am always a bit cautious when it comes to applying face oils as I usually end up looking greasy. I liked that this didn't have the greasy affect, in any case I prefer to use it at night instead of a moisturiser.
Finally the Nourishing Moisturiser, unfortunately this was my least favourite of the bunch but that was mainly due to the fact that it did not suit my specific skin type.

Name Your Hood
A private Cape Town company came up with an incredible intiative to "rename" the hoods of the Cape Town City Bowl, the winning names will not be an official change through a mandate but will be used as a tool for tourism maps and to best describe each hood.
So far 5 hoods have been named and you can learn more about each hood, where to shop, stay and the history behind each specific hood.
I decided to choose a name for hood 6 and was completley suprised to find out yesterday that it has been shortlisted!!!! So please can everyone vote for me to win, it is very simple and quick to vote and would mean so much to me. Not only are the prizes to the value of R10 000 but it is the legacy of knowing I named an area of my beloved city!
Voting ends on the 30th of November!!!

Marilyn / Norma Jean
I have started reading Marilyn Norma Jean by Gloria Steinem and it is a fascinating portrayal of such a tragic icon. In fact it has made me reflect on my life in many ways too. Here are some pictures of the beautiful woman.

Kim Kardashian Perfume Review
I recently won the latest Kim Kardashian perfume on the fabulous website StyleScoop, it is Kim's second Fragrance. The bottle is gorgeous and has a strong elegant look to it.
The fragrance itself is very interesting, at first I felt is was too exotic and rich for me but I have quickly fallen in love with the deep, spicy notes laced with rich florals. It is the perfect fragrance to spritz on for a hot summer night.
The main notes are Italian bergamot and grapefruits with spicy pink peppercorn, this is blended with jasmine (My Fav) , violet and rose. The strength and long-lasting power comes from the patchouli, sandalwood, amber and musk.
Say what you want about Kim Kardashian but she sure creates divine fragrances and I am absolutely thrilled with this one!

Holidays!!!
Am finally on my proper holiday, all I want is so relax and enjoy Summer. But the weather in Cape Town is not playing along at all, yesterday is rained, hailed, snowed on the mountains and by late afternoon the sky was blue and clear and it was pleasantly warm. So confusing!
I really need to work on my tan but due to the bipolar weather and my reluctance to spend too much time in a TanCan I am considering to use a selftan but that smell is just so horrid. Any recommendations for a non-orangey mild smelling selftan?

Product Love
A new feature I will be doing is Product Love, this is for when I find a product that I absolutely adore and just have to share with everyone.
This weeks products are JuMe, they are Vegan, not tested on animals and are all manufactered in an Eco Certified Lab which is definitely the way to go these days. No longer do we have to settle for beauty products that are filled with toxins and chemicals. All JuMe Product formulas always CONTAIN NO:
Petrochemicals, sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colours, Glycols, Silicones, TEA, DEA, PEGS.

Now to get to the actual product reviews...I tried out the Sweet Orange Luxury Body Wash which has a spicy deep orange fragrance. What I loved most about this product was that it didn't have that typical almost rancid essential oil smell that so many sweet orange all natural products tend to have. The body wash is delicate and has a nice consistency. The body washes retail for around R98.

The Soothing Vanilla Body Lotion blew me away, I am so inlove with this lotion! The fragrance is divine, I must admit that vanilla is my favourite fragrance but surprisingly this doesn't smell anything like your usual overpowering vanilla instead it instantly reminded me of these pink little sweets that smell like a delicate perfume. I am a body butter girl as I find most body lotions are either too greasy or aren't moisturising enough but this has to be the best lotion ever it literally sank into my skin within seconds and left my body feeling silky soft and moisturised without any greasy residue. And at R150 for such an amazing product it makes the perfect Eco conscious Christmas gift!

Almost Moet Time
Today I write my last exam for the year Public Relations, am really looking forward to having a relaxing much-needed holiday.
Need to sip some Moet & Chandon and catch up on all my favourite blog's posts for the last couple weeks. I have managed to sneak in a bit of reading here and there during my study breaks but not that much.
I am planning on tweaking a few things on my blog later this week so keep an eye out for them!
